Bilingual Websites and Video for Elgin, IL Businesses

Elgin is about 21 miles from our McHenry studio. We work here as one team handling web design, photography, video and SEO, so your brand reads the same on your site, your Google profile and your storefront.

The first gap we look for in Elgin is language. Census data shows 48.1% of residents age 5 and older speak a language other than English at home, and 48.7% are Hispanic or Latino. A business whose website, reviews and ads only speak English is missing a big share of the people driving Randall Road or walking past Fountain Square. Elgin’s calendar leans on cultural festivals: La Fiesta de Elgin (September 12 in 2026), Boricua Fest in August, Elgin Pride in June, plus the Juneteenth Rhythm and Blues Cultural Festival and Elgin Micheleros Fest. Fountain Square or Randall Road?

Downtown is a Main Street America Accredited district, backed by the Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin, and the city has five designated historic districts, including the Elgin National Watch Factory Historic District. Randall Road is the opposite: retail for almost its whole length, with the I-90 interchange growing into an employment center of industrial, office and hotel development. A downtown shop sells a story and a place to walk into. A Randall Road business wins on “near me” search and fast mobile pages. We plan your site around which one you are.

Elgin is fairly open sky for drone video. In the FAA UAS Facility Map data (effective 9/3/2026), the points checked near Fountain Square, along the Randall Road corridor and around I-90 and Route 31 had no facility-map grid. That puts them outside the controlled airspace that requires LAANC.

• The closest controlled airspace is the Class D around DuPage Airport (KDPA), a towered field in West Chicago. Its nearest grid is about 4 miles from downtown and roughly 2 to 3 miles from the city’s southeast and east edges, with a 400 ft LAANC ceiling.
• O’Hare’s Class B grids do not reach Elgin.
• Before launching from a city park, we check with the City of Elgin first.

Before any flight, check the FAA B4UFLY app, LAANC and current TFRs for the exact launch point. We do that for every Elgin shoot.

The City of Elgin requires a Film Permit Application for filming on public property, and closing a street or parking lot takes a separate closure permit. Both run through the Special Events Permits office at 150 Dexter Court (847-931-6001). We confirm any fee with the city before we quote. Elgin manages its own parks, so Festival Park on the Fox River and 108-acre Lords Park, founded in 1893 with its historic pavilion and old oaks, both go through City Hall. Riverside Drive during the Makers Markets and the historic downtown blocks are strong backdrops too. On nearby Forest Preserves of Cook County land, a permit applies once a shoot adds models, outside props, exclusive space or 25+ people.

Can you fly a drone over downtown Elgin or the Randall Road corridor?

From an airspace standpoint, usually yes. The FAA facility-map points we checked there sit outside controlled airspace, with DuPage Airport’s Class D starting a few miles southeast. We still check each launch point for temporary flight restrictions, get the property owner’s permission, and file Elgin’s Film Permit Application when the shoot uses public property.

Do we need a city permit to shoot at Festival Park or Lords Park?

Plan on it. Both parks are run by the City of Elgin rather than a park district, and the city asks anyone filming on public property to submit a Film Permit Application. Special event permits are due 60 days before an event, so a sponsored activation at Festival Park needs a long runway. We handle the paperwork as part of production.
